Georgia On My Mind

10 November 2007 - We continued on our way down to Ellijay, GA for Becky to appear as the 'resident' artist at one of the shops there during the Georgia Apple Festival. While Becky worked Dave wandered the streets to enjoy the sights. We were staying at a Corp of Engineer lake, Carter Lake, about 10 miles out of town. This is our site there and what is not obvious is the site is long enough to put our rig and truck in it TWICE! Plus they provide full hookup. We do love those Corp campgrounds at $6 to $10 a night.

These are a few of the photos I took as I had a look around. The girls were doing a booming business with their lemonade - as you can imagine. Who could say no!!!

This shot was to show the locals taking a break, the back of the old buildings AND to note Roundabouts in downtown rural USA!! Who would have thought it? Now if someone would only explain to them how to drive in them!!!!

This is the shop where Becky was demonstrating her Floor Art and we hung a couple of her cloths on the porch. The Cabin is clearly visible and there is one of the Pine Boughs on the other side of the door.

Interesting clouds on the way to our next stop in Georgia.

These three photos were taken in Georgia Veteran Memorial State Park near Cordele, Georgia. We had stopped here on the way to Florida on our last trip and decided to stop again. New find this trip was some GREAT locally made sausage at the little market right at the turn into the park. The link sausage was the BEST I had ever had (I don't tend to even LIKE link sausage). By the way - when the butcher tells you one of his meats is hot, believe him. Get the medium - trust me.
