Bandit's Roost State Park, Wilkesboro, NC

After an overnight stop in High Point, NC to bid farewell to the Whitehead clan, we pointed our rig westward. No more 'eastward ho' until we reach the Pacific Ocean. We arrived at Wilkesboro 14 June 2006. The air was full of moisture and this photo was taken shortly after sunrise from the front of our site. There were sites available right on the lake shore but they did not have shade so we 'settled' for this view of a morning. I can hear all of you expressing how sorry you are for us - thanks! The views from the roads in this part of NC are great as you can see. We alternated riding our bikes around the park, going into Wilkesboro for a bike ride and sightseeing the nearby attractions.
