Fulda Minnesota

On to Fulda, MN where our friends from Lebanon, Dick and Marlys Johnson live. Fulda has a population of 1230 folks and the city park we stayed in reflected it. These crowded parks are killing me!!! Of course the $10/day was excessive also. Never mind. I needed a barber and Dick assured me this was the place to get it. Notice the sign in the window – open at 3 pm – what it does not say is that only applies on Tuesday and Thursday. Don’t you love small town America? The next photo is where the men’s coffee clutch meets every morning at 6 am for coffee and heavy gambling on a local dice game - rules available upon request. I decided not to donate any of our money to the pot. The towns we visited followed the Minnesota pattern of having 3 or 4 Lutheran churches and one or two of other faiths but Fulda has a beautiful old Catholic Church. It faces a lake and is a great setting. We were told attendance went down in summer as it is not air conditioned and one in a nearby town is – if it is often as hot as it was while we were there I do not blame them. The Presbyterian church also had no air but Dick and Marlys conveniently forgot to mention that until we were inside!! Thanks Dick.
