Graveyard in Beaufort, NC

This graveyard in downtown Beaufort dates from the 1700's and contains the graves from the Revolutionary War, Civil War, WWI and WWII. It is still in use today. Many of the tombstones were impossible to read but there were enough to verify dates from 3 centuries. It was cool in the shades of the old trees even though the temperatures were in the 80's and 'hot' walking out in the sun. A peaceful hour was spent strolling and reading the old head stones. Posted by Picasa
