Palisades State Park, SD

Leaving our friends and Minnesota we drove the short distance to Sioux Falls, SD to have our awning replaced and then back to Palisades State Park near Garrettson, SD. Talk about a beautiful setting! The water is from Split Rock Creek and runs through the quartzite making its way toward the Big Sioux. As you can see, it is more than scenic. The campground is small and has only electric - not even a dump station - but was perfect for what we needed. We pretty much had the place to ourselves during the week but it filled up on the weekends. When Becky called the camp they told her they had no openings on the upcoming weekend but offerred us the 'Host' site. It was right close to the showers, etc. and was perfect. The District Manager later came by to talk to us about Hosting and we were told if we applied for the job, the interview was already completed. Seems they want 24 hours (each) per week and the sites only cost $14/day so probably not for us. We work cheap but not that cheap!!
