Indiana University

These are not really great photos but I include them to mention what is contained within them. First and most outstanding is the Lilly Library - if you are ever even close to Bloomington and have any interest in books, do not miss this. Mr. Lilly donated his world renowned collection of old and distinguished books and they are freely seen by anyone who cares to look. The library was empty when we were there and we spent several hours looking at such things as one of the original Gutenberg Bibles and Audubon's original plates of birds. Both are outstanding. First editions abound of every conceivable book you have ever read or heard of and one complete room of books by or about Lincoln - dating from the 1800's right up to the present. The second building is the Art Gallery and though not as overwhelming as the library, it was well worth the time and price (again free).
