On to Minnesota

We crossed the Mississippi for the last time on our Westward trip and chose the town of Rochester, MN for our next layover. This is the home of the Mayo Clinic and we stayed in a campground south of town that is quiet but still used by patients of the Clinic. An hourly shuttle is supplied free of charge to take patients to the Clinic for treatment making it very patient friendly. The park also gives discounted monthly rates for the patients. We met two couples at the camp who were taking treatment – this is one of the couples, Dave and Rita Hoch and their dogs Sweetie and Pistol. Sweetie developed an upset stomach the first night we were there and we earned the couples gratitude by recommending a Margaret Snyder trick of feeding rice to such animals – it worked!!! Dave is an unbelievable woodcarver of fish (and a few other animals such as buffalo). His is quite a talent. I will try to get some photos of his carvings to put on a Blog.
